Drew Barrymore’s Photography

Drew has long been in love with photography. She bought her first Polaroid camera at age 14 and was gifted a Pentax K1000 film camera in 2000 which she has used consistently ever since. A handful of magazines have printed her personal photos as part of their features on her and she held a charity auction in 2006 of some of the photography from her trips to Africa. By 2012, her interest surpassed the level of simply a hobby and she began to have editorials printed in well respected magazines like V and Vs. In 2014, she released a lovely book of heart-related photographs she’d taken over the past two decades entitled Find It in Everything. You can purchase a copy on Amazon.

Recently I’ve been lucky enough to get work as a photographer. When I first started shooting, I felt really sick because I’ve never had to turn my photographs over to an editor. I just thought, ‘God, what if I suck or what if they’re not good enough or what if they’re disappointed?’ And in typical fashion, I just sort of think, like, you know what? If you can’t do something, figure it out. Learn it. And I just made myself super sick, I did a lot of homework and I figured it out.
